Integrity Coatings

Frequently Asked Questions

A: Call (800) 773-7336 and sign up for our Tub University refinishing training school. Also, consult our Training Services page for more information and details. We also offer a do-it-yourself kit which includes everything you need for do-it-yourself tub, tile, and countertop refinishing.

A: These coatings are two-part coatings—base and catalyst—and are best applied with HVLP (high-velocity, low-pressurespray equipment. The best manufacturers include Wagner/SprayTech and Graco, for whom we are distributors. Note that these coatings do not produce their best results when either “rolled on” or “sprayed on” through conventional spray equipment. This DIY equipment can easily be rented for around $35. We have also produced a DIY video that shows the spray equipment and proper spray techniques in more detail.

A: First of all, replacement requires the initial tear-out of the existing items. Therefore, when determining replacement cost, you must factor in this tear-out cost in addition to the cost of installation, labor, and replacement items—not to mention the mess and time that it takes. For example, typical bathtub replacement costs range between $1,500-$3,000 and usually take 1-2.5 weeks to complete. Refinishing, on the other hand, takes less than one day and saves at least 70% when compared to replacement.

A: Our EP-Acrylic refinishing system works beautifully on porcelain bathtubs, sinks, fiberglass shower enclosures, pedestal sinks, ceramic tile, Formica countertops, claw-foot tubs, plastic tubs, oven doors, refrigerators, dishwashers, kitchen cabinets, cultured marble countertops, shower pans, bathroom floors, and various fiberglass and acrylic surfaces.

A: Definitely not. You likely won’t be able to tell the difference between a new bathtub and refinished one. Refinishing will make that old chipped, stained, or color-dated item look new again.

A: EP-Acrylic is a highperformance acrylic polymer coating specifically designed for refinishing porcelain, fiberglass, Formica, and other surfaces with a high-gloss, long-lasting, and hard finish. EP-Acrylic has been on the market for over ten years and is the coating of choice for over 250 refinishers. It’s also isocyanate-free and safer for the environment.

A: One of the key benefits of refinishing is that it can usually be completed in less than one day. Our refinished bathtubs can be used in 24 hours and are fully cured in 48 hours.

A: We recommend Miracle Cleaner, a specially designed cleaner made for refinished fixtures. This strong but non-abrasive cleaner will safely keep your fixture clean without dulling the gloss as any abrasive cleaner will do.

A: Small chips and cracks can be repaired during the cleaning and preparation stage of refinishing. Your technician will inform you if the chip or cracks cannot be repaired prior to refinishing your fixture.

A: A bathroom or kitchen fixture refinished with EP-Acrylic should easily last 10-15 years or longer with proper care and maintenance. Again, we recommend using Miracle Cleaner for maintaining your refinished surface.
